VP of Marketing & Communications for Accent Inns and Hotel Zed

Trina is the VP of Marketing & Communications for Accent Inns and Hotel Zed. She has a 25-year, multi-award-winning marketing career under her belt. Prior to Accent Inns/Hotel Zed she was CMO for Destination Greater Victoria for six years. In 2014, she won the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association’s coveted Marketer of the Year award for the outstanding growth of the Victoria brand.

Trina also spent ten years at Inventa, a national experiential advertising agency, leading the creative process for new business pitches for clients including, Coca-Cola, Nintendo, and Cadillac Fairview, to name a few. Here she won PROMO’s Best Experiential Campaign in the World for her work with Cadillac Fairview, beating out Coca-Cola and Heineken for the top spot. Prior to that, she began her career in journalism as an editor of community newspapers and a writer/researcher for a CBC TV series about non-traditional jobs for women.

Trina holds an MBA from Royal Roads University, diplomas in print journalism and broadcast journalism as well as a certificate in Strategic Negotiations from Harvard Business School. Finally, Trina is a strong advocate for women in her industry and is known for speaking out against sexism.
