The Honourable Wendy Cocchia, C.M., O.B.C., LL.D. (Hon)

Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia

The Honourable Wendy Cocchia is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community leader, whose contributions have been recognized by the Order of Canada, and the Order of British Columbia.

Her Honour has spent more than four decades as a leader in hospitality, most recently as CEO of Crew Management Ltd. and the Century Plaza Hotel in Vancouver. She has also served as Governor of the Business Council of British Columbia, a founding Director for Destination British Columbia, and as the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s fifth and then-youngest female Chair. 

In recognition of her leadership and community involvement, Her Honour has received two honorary doctorates, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Canada’s Most Powerful Women: WXN Top 100 Award. She is a past Influential Women in Business Award recipient, has received the YWCA Women of Distinction Award twice, and was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and King Charles III Coronation Medal.

A champion for disability rights and services, Her Honour co-founded the Pacific Autism Family Network — a first-of-its-kind knowledge and resource network in North America that provides essential information and services to people who are neurodivergent and their families.
