The Manel: Shared Roles in Equity Efforts

Panelists (more to be announced)

Chatman Shaw, Corporate Development Manager, Indigenous Tourism BC

Time: 10:00 - 10:45 AM

Length: 45 mins

Location: Kitsilano Ballroom

Session Description

For the first time, WORTH has invited an all male panel to the stage to discuss how gender equity is our collective responsibility. The Manel brings male leaders into the conversation to explore the essential role men play in creating more inclusive, equitable workplaces.

This session invites respected industry voices to speak candidly about their personal responsibility, learning journeys, and the concrete actions they are taking to advance gender equity within their spheres of influence. Panelists will discuss how men can move from passive support to active partnership, challenge outdated norms, sponsor and advocate for women’s advancement, and help build cultures where everyone can thrive.

Grounded in accountability and collective progress, this conversation allows our MORTHs (men of recreation, tourism and hospitality) to shift their perspectives from the hot seat.
